Mountain View Chapel

Mission Statement: Mountain View Chapel is making disciples who glorify Christ as He builds His church.

Core Values:

Scripture: We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, authoritative and sufficient for living now and unto eternal life. We submit to God’s Word in all teaching, ministry, and practice to make each person mature in wisdom. (Deut. 4:2; Psalm 119; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21)

Worship: We believe the Holy God is worthy of all adoration for who He is and what He has done through Christ. Worship is our obedient response in Spirit and truth through word and deed. We commit to worship corporately and to encourage and equip all for personal worship. (1 Sam. 15:22; 1 Chron. 16:25; Psalm 103:1-2; John 4:23; Heb. 10:25)

Prayer: We believe prayer is the act of humble dependence on our heavenly Father in the name of Christ by the Holy Spirit. With thanksgiving and confession, according to God’s Word, we receive mercy and grace in our time of need. We devote ourselves to continual prayer together and in private, teaching one another to pray. (Matt. 6:5-13; Luke 11:1-13; John 14:13-14; Rom. 8:26-27; 1 Thess. 4:16-18; Heb. 4:16; 1 John 1:9)

Discipleship: We believe our calling in the Holy Spirit is to intentionally train each believer to maturity. These relationships foster obedience to Jesus’ commandments, growth in faith in God, and love for one another. We desire faithful disciples of Christ who are equipped to go forth and do likewise. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 2:11; 13:34-35; Colossians 1:28; 2 Timothy 2:1-2)

Evangelism: We believe that salvation belongs to the Lord and He calls those whom He appoints. The church is chosen by God to proclaim and testify to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We resolve to evangelize wherever we are through preaching, personal witness, and support of other missionaries. (Psalm 3:8; John 6:65; Acts 13:48; Romans 10:15; 1 Peter 3:15-16)

Fellowship: We believe fellowship is rooted in the union of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Through the Gospel, God has called us into partnership with Himself and one another. More than just community, fellowship requires walking in the light, service, sacrifice, and suffering with Christ together. We strive to magnify the Lord as we encourage, gather, admonish and contribute to each other. (Acts 2:42; Rom. 15:26; 1 Cor. 1:9, 10:16; 2 Cor. 8:4, 9:13, 13:14; Gal. 2:19; Phil. 1:4, 3:10; Philemon 6; Heb. 10:24, 13:16; 1 John 1:3,7)

Family: We believe family is God’s original design, good in it’s creation. Through it, he reflects his nature and glory. We, as the church family, are called to train, equip, and support our households toward godliness. (Gen. 2:24; Exodus 20:12; Deut. 6:4-6; Joshua 24:15; Prov. 13:24, 22:6; Luke 24:25-26; Eph. 5, 6:1-4; 1 Tim. 3:5, 5:8)
